Steve Rogers/Captain America will be butting his super-soldier head against armored genius inventor Tony Stark/Iron Man come Apr 28 in cinemas here. Across the globe however, the two factions will be splitting up as part of a promotional world tour.

Last Wednesday was the start of a "dumping session", as referred to in an emotional Facebook post by animal welfare group Voices For Animals. First, three dogs were found wandering around a carpark in the Yishun industrial area, suffering from skin issues as a result of neglect. Subsequently, many other small dogs were recovered from various parts of Singapore, including places like Serangoon, Sengkang and Tampines, all in the span of 24 hours.

Bake cheese tart

If you've had the luxury of tasting Bake Cheese Tart's pastries at one of its many outlets around the world (think Hong Kong, Bangkok, Seoul and, of course, Japan), you'll be psyched to hear that the Hokkaido brand is opening a branch in Singapore. A launch date hasn't been confirmed, but we hear the store should be opening some time over the next two months, in the basement food hall of Ion Orchard (#B4-33, to be exact).

The famous cheese tart features a creamy mousse, blended from three different types of cream cheese, lying atop a crunchy, twice-baked tart base. But really, our words fail in comparison to the description on the official website: "The best cheese tart in your life ever for you. We have so much passion for cheese tart SERIOUSLY."

Video: Locals react in horror when they read Donald Trump's quotes (which are actually LKY's)

What does Singapore's founding prime minister Lee Kuan Yew and American presidential candidate Donald Trump have in common?

Not a lot, we assure you — Trump is regarded as a vulgar figure, amplifying angry voices and jingoistic sentiments that put him in reckless abandon into the front end of the Republican nomination for president. Lee on the other hand can be regarded as a controversial figure, but at least one who successfully authored a small Southeast Asian country into an economic success story.

Both figures however have been known to make some pretty rabble-rousing statements in their careers — but of course Donald trumps that arena. That's probably why these folks were caught unaware when they reacted in disgust to Trump's quotes — when in fact they were Lee Kuan Yew's. Watch the All Singapore Stuff video below:

The Monday blues got even bluer for two people this morning when a large tree collapsed onto a taxi and a van at the junction of Corporation Road and Boon Lay Drive.

A fire engine, a Red Rhino, two fire bikes, an ambulance and a support vehicle were dispatched to the scene after they were alerted after 10am this morning. Glitter bomb

To all you class clowns and pranksters out there — conjured up your April Fools' joke yet? No? We've got a suggestion for you: send a glitter bomb greeting card to your friends (the ones who really love you and will forgive you each time they find shiny particles in their hair over the next week or so). Alternatively, you could target an obnoxious colleague, or dole out a sparkling surprise to a frenemy.

This messy gag is the brainchild of gift marketplace MerryMakr.com, which offers you three options: Sparkle ($6.99 for 5g of gold glitter), Illuminate ($9.99 for 10g) and Super Nova ($12.99 for 15g).

Ditch your diet for these new desserts at Tiong Bahru Bakery

Tiong Bahru Bakery

Eleven new sweet treats have made it to the menu at Tiong Bahru Bakery. Remember its oh-so-popular lemon tart ($6.50)? Well, the tangy dessert now comes in three sour levels to cater to different palates.

"Ele-CITRUS-fying" level one is a smooth and creamy blend of sweet and tart that leans a little more towards the former. Level two is probably what you're more used to: there's a noticeable kick of citrus, and the ratio of sweet to sour is neatly balanced. For those who enjoy a sharp jolt in every bite, level three is what you're looking for. It works as a refreshing wake-up call from your sluggish after-lunch food coma.

The mystery behind the case of the 18 abandoned dogs has been solved

Eighteen dogs were abandoned last week, and a total of 30 were rescued by animal welfare societies Voices For Animals and Ocean Rescue Group by the end of the week. But no one knew who was behind the island-wide "dumping" of canines or why the person resorted to such actions — until now.

Apparently, all 30 pedigree dogs belonged to the owner of a pet grooming school, reported The Straits Times. He had kept them there for trainees to practise their grooming skills on, until two weeks ago, when the authorities informed him that the pooches had to go, as the neighbours were filing complaints.

Since 2012, four-year-old Mohammad Airyl Amirul Haziq bore the brunt of his mother's inhumane physical abuse.

She roughed him up as punishment for stumbling with his alphabets and reciting numbers — to the extent that he was repeatedly shoved and got his ribs stepped on. All her abuse came to an apex on August 2014, when she choked the toddler unconscious. He died four days later in hospital.

34-year-old Noraidah Mohd Yussof has since pleaded guilty to two counts each of causing grievous hurt and ill-treating a child, The Straits Times reports. She also admitted to six instances of physical abuse, all of which took place at her Eunos Flat.

All this in a shiny new mall that opened just three months ago.

Cheryl Yap Lay Leng is the 25-year-old Singaporean who made headlines when she and her mum vanished without a trace earlier this year, only to reappear in Romania. Even her father was not informed of their trip, and he reported them missing, worried they fell prey to some sort of scam.

But it turned out that Cheryl had simply been bitten by the love bug. She just wanted to meet her boyfriend, 18-year-old Alexandru Donea, whom she met online two years ago. The pair bonded through their mutual love for manga.

BSK eggs benedict

Rise and shine, for the early bird catches the worm. Although, in this case, it's more like a spread of British classic brekkie items at Gordon Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchen.

First on the list is, unsurprisingly, the English breakfast ($24), a plate full of bacon, sausage, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato and baked beans sitting cosy with two eggs of your choice (scrambled, poached or fried).

For something a little on the lighter side, choose the eggs benedict ($19) with honey roasted ham, spinach or smoked salmon, or the BSK omelette ($19) stuffed with mushrooms, gruyere cheese and rocket leaves. Avocado fanatics can go for chunky slivers of creamy goodness nestled with a poached egg and drizzled with mustard mayo on a slab of pumpernickel bread ($15).
