In yet another viral encounter of casual public racism, an Indian man took to Facebook to recount his recent brush with bigotry — by a 5-year-old child, no less.

Describing himself as a bonafide Singaporean "who was born in KK Hospital and grew up in the outskirts of Bendemeer Kampung", Vijayan had been on the way to work at Changi Airport when he claimed to have experienced the shocking episode.

After giving up his non-reserved seat to a mother and her child, the kid looked at him and laughed, saying "Mummy, Appu Neh Neh, black black man"— outrightly offensive terms for Indian people. Ludicrously, the girl's mother "grinned back at her with an agreeable expression", Vijayan says.
