Here's an update on the lift malfunctions plaguing HDB blocks — yet another one has occurred, this time at Block 302A Woodlands Street 31 on Sunday evening. Fortunately, no one was injured by any elevator antics, but with the breakdown of all three lifts for four hours, many residents were left with the choice of staying on the ground floor or climbing the stairs of the 33-storey building. What made things worse was that the Woodlands Peak project was completed just last year, and about half the units were studio apartments housing the elderly, who no doubt struggled to get up the stairs to their homes.
