In a rather grim discovery while enjoying the Marina Bay view, a German man spotted the figure of a body floating face down in the waters.
He had been enjoying a morning walk on the Helix Bridge yesterday when he saw the woman, floating along motionless, The New Paper reports. After he alerted the authorities, police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel arrived on site to carry out the rescue.
Firefighters swam out to the woman and brought her to land. Detecting no pulse and breathing, medics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the woman, who was then successfully revived in the ambulance on the way to Singapore General Hospital.
Police are still investigating the case — and it's unclear how she ended up in the water in the first place.
