Stealth Mode: Two men tried to swim across to Malaysia with black trash bags over their heads

Black trash bagsUsing the highly-skilled method of escaping detection by holding trash bags over their heads, two men have been arrested for attempting to swim over to Malaysia.  Officers at the Woodlands Checkpoint must have been weirded out when they spotted two random black trash bags floating near the shoreline along the Causeway at 4.40am yesterday. Sensing that something was amiss (as they should), they went down to check and found two goons swimming underneath the plastic bags near the shoreline.  Investigations revealed that both of them had overstayed in Singapore. The two Malaysians — aged 37 and 39 — tried to swim over back home and the trash bags were used in an attempt to be super stealthy. Clearly the two masters of disguise failed.  Both will face jail terms and caning for overstaying as well as attempting to depart Singapore illegally.  Photo: ICA newsroom; Kai Hendry via Flickr
