A young hooligan got his just deserts after he was sentenced to serve 18 months in jail and receive six strokes of the cane for his daring armed assault at ITE College West earlier in March this year.  Folks should remember 17-year-old Muhammad Zuhairie Adely Zulkifli who was caught on tape wielding a 35-cm long bread knife and chasing another student at the school. His victim — 18-year-old Ahmad Nurthaqif — was slashed across his back, and also suffered fractures on his forearm, fingers as well as a cut behind his ear.  Apparently the dispute was typical of boys their age — over a girl.  In court, Zuhairie pleaded guilty to voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a deadly weapon, TODAY reports. There was also a separate charge of being part of an unlawful assembly, punching and kicking another victim last year.  District Judge Matthew Joseph noted that Zuhairie clearly knew what he was doing, retrieving the bread knife from his locker and severely wounding the victim.  "What was supposed to be a safe environment was shattered by your vicious and gratuitous attack," said the Judge.  The unsatisfied Zuhairie plans to appeal against his sentence.
