Days after his physical assault on his team-mates appeared in headlines, hot-headed national cyclist has issued a public apology over his actions.
SEA Games bronze medallist Vincent Ang was facing a police probe after his team-mate Ang Kee Meng lodged a police report about Vincent hitting him on two occasions — during a training session last Sunday, and also while the cyclists were having breakfast — following an argument. The assault left Kee Meng with bruises to his head and three days of medical leave.
The 38-year-old Vincent has since admitted to slapping and punching his team-mate, and assured yesterday that he would cooperate fully with the authorities, The Straits Times reports.
Among the local cycling community, Vincent has been known to be pretty prone to bouts of anger and violence; a fact that he has since come to admit as well. He mentioned that he has agreed to a suggestion by the Singapore Cycling Federation to seek help to manage his emotions and will be working with them to get the assistance he needs.
Whatever it is, you just need to take a chill pill, bro.
