After his arrest two nights ago, the Bedok North slasher who left multiple deep knife wounds on his friend's left arm has been dragged to State Courts this morning to face charges.
27-year-old Sari Gujang is accused of voluntarily causing grievous hurt to 25-year-old Muhammad Rizuwan Zakariah at Block 538 along Bedok North Street 3 two days ago, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Sari allegedly used a knife to lacerate Rizuwan's left palm, causing a 10cm gash that left a grisly trail of blood at a nearby hawker centre, where the victim ran to for help. After being assisted by a neighbour, the police were called in and an ambulance conveyed the conscious Rizuwan to Changi General Hospital.
The assailant was arrested that very day around 8pm.
The bail for Sari currently stands at $20,000, and he will have to surrender his passport. Should he be convicted, he could very well face life imprisonment (and that's probably for the best).
The case has been adjourned to Jul 30.
