Singapura the musicalDespite the earlier-than-expected closure of Singapura: The Musical, the company behind the production — 4th Wall Theatre Company — has promised to pay everyone the amount due to them amidst rumours of financial troubles.  The show had stopped running at the Capitol Theatre on July 2 even though they announced that the musical would be extended till July 19. Though they never revealed the reasons behind cutting their run short, it wasn't too surprising to see why — terrible audience turnout that sometimes saw the cast performing to a near-empty theatre. The bad reviews didn't help either.  According to a report by The Straits Times, the company behind Singapura: The Musical assured that they will honour all contracts as several cast members, crew and vendors had lamented about delayed payments. They did promise to pay, but they didn't specify exactly when. "There are administrative matters at hand that need to be finalised with the various suppliers involved. At this juncture, we cannot discuss further details due to confidentiality reasons," The Straits Times reported them to state.  Whatever the case may be, it's still a pretty dreadful way to launch the newly reopened Capitol Theatre, we must say.  Photo: Singapura: The Musical Facebook page
