When the idea was first broached last year, some SME owners remarked that issuing payslips to employees who are relatives or friends was unnecessary and entails extra resources.
Under this new provision, offenders will be liable to a fine of up to $1,000 on the first offence and up to S$2,000 on subsequent ones, reports Today.
