Young Lions fall hard to Myanmar in 2-1 defeat in SEA Games football semi-finals'Twas a stunning turn of events yesterday night at Jalan Besar Stadium as Singapore's Young Lions team put on a disappointing display when they lost to Yangon's Thuwanna YTC in a 2-1 defeat as part of the SEA Games football semi-finals.  Almost 2,000 Myanmar supporters cheered on their team, pushing their compatriots into leaving the Singapore side stupefied when the Young White Angels continued to run down the flanks deep into their opponent's side, securing two goals by Nay Lin Tun and Ye Ko Oo.  The Singapore team only managed to score a single goal by way of a penalty kick, and were not able to drive in solid goals as the Myanmar defence stood strong. Their disappointment was clear when the Singapore team slumped onto the ground and shed tears when the final whistle blew at the end of 90 minutes.  Following the match, another kind of drama unfolded on the Football Association of Singapore's Facebook page, where Burmese netizens gloated over their win and posted some pretty racist comments about the Singapore players. For shame, dawg.    (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Match Report: Singapore U23s 1 - 2 Myanmar U23sRead the full report here: http://www.fas.org.sg/news/singapore-edged-out-myanmar Posted by Football Association of Singapore on Thursday, 4 June 2015 The Young Lions will have to do well against the Cambodian team in the next match or face elimination from the SEA Games itself.  Photo: FAS Facebook page
