In a sign of a trend shift in travellers' choice of places to visit in Singapore, the offbeat paths seem to be becoming more popular as lesser known attractions make it on popular travel website TripAdvisor's list of top things to to do here.
Aside from the usual suspects such as Gardens By The Bay, Singapore Zoo, Singapore Flyer and other really overhyped attractions, landmarks such as the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum, Kranji War Memorial, Bukit Brown Cemetery made it the top crop of TripAdvisor's list.
Experts speaking to TODAY remarked that the fact that such obscure sites are becoming popular among tourists signals a shift in what they're looking out for — a unique experience that they won't get back in their home countries.
Of course, if it were up to us, we'd recommend adventurous tourists to experience the genuine kampung spirit of the Potong Pasir district and dine luxuriously at one of the many Ananas Cafés across Singapore.
