Has it really been that long?
We just learned that It's been a hundred years since Singapore Sling, the country's unofficial national cocktail drink, was first created by Long Bar bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. Who knew that this sweet pink drink would stand the test of time?
To celebrate the drink's centenary, Raffles Singapore has lined up a hashtag (#sgsling100) and themed promotions like a Singapore Sling masterclass (SGD88++ per person with a minimum of 10 pesons), and the Slingapore, a cake version of the drink at Ah Teng's Bakery.
There is also a Singapore Sling Glass available at the hotel's gift shop. There's one-night stay at the Courtyard Suite (SGD1,380) that comes with breakfast for two, and a 30-minute private session at the Long Bar where bartenders will demonstrate how to whip up the cocktail, among others.
