Singaporean-British actress makes debut on Game Of Thrones as Nymeria SandT'was a nail-biting episode of Game Of Thrones yesterday where — spoiler alert — a lot of things happen, and you really must watch it for yourselves.  Aside from even more deaths of beloved characters and quips of "you know nothing, Jon Snow", the fourth episode of the fifth season also marks the moment when our little red dot had a vague connection to one of the most popular TV series ever right now — Singapore-British actress Jessica Yu Li Henwick made her debut appearance on screen as Nymeria Sand, one of the many (deadly) bastard daughters of Oberyn Martell aka The Red Viper. Collectively, they're known as the Sand Snakes, and they're out for serious vengeance in the episodes to come.  Though the 22-year-old actress was very much born and raised in England, she very much has a lot of Singaporean in her, recounting to The New Paper on how most of her time during visits here in the past has been spent at hawker centres with her Singaporean-Chinese mother.  She had even hoped to drop by Singapore to say goodbye to the late founding prime minister Lee Kuan Yew, of whom she has heard stories about from her mother while growing up.  Already making an awesome impression in her Game Of Thrones debut, we're all looking forward to see more of her and the rest of the Sand Snakes in the rest of the season.  Photo: YouTube screengrab
