3-year-old boy miraculously survives fall from sixth storey flat in QueenstownIn an incident that is both horrifying and remarkable, a three-year-old toddler has miraculously survived a fall from a sixth floor flat in Queenstown.  The boy was at home with his maternal grandmother at their family home at Block 186 along Stirling Road when he fell out of the kitchen window, The New Paper reports.  The grandmother had gone downstairs to pick up a pair of children's shorts that had fallen, when the boy tumbled out, hit some bamboo poles on the way down, landed on a parapet on the second storey before rolling off to the ground floor.  Despite the absence of bleeding or open wounds, it was clear that the boy was suffering internal injuries as he bawled loudly. A number of residents came to the boy to provide aid and called for an ambulance. His distressed grandmother however refused to listen to their pleas to keep him still and wait paramedics — she went ahead to carry him back to the the flat.  Moving injured people who have suffered traumatic injuries could make things worse, and even kill the victim.  Paramedics conveyed the conscious boy to the National University Hospital later on. He is currently in critical condition.  The incident is eerily similar to the one that took place at Jurong last week, where a three-year-old girl hung mid-air from the second-storey after getting her head stuck in between the balcony railings.  Photo: Qi Wei Fong via Flickr
