Husband in roach-ridden Eunos flat has been unable to stop his wife from hoarding for 20 years The neighbours residing next to the roach-infested unit belonging to an elderly couple may be utterly frustrated over their unhygienic living conditions (re: viral video clip of them stomping out a legion of pests at the common corridor) but none of them are probably as frustrated as the man who actually has to live with his hoarder wife.  According to The New Paper, 74-year-old Lim Chin Ting has to sleep on a sofa every night surrounded by mountains of newspapers, bags of leftover food and other miscellaneous rubbish in the flat — all of which are collected by his 66-year-old hoarder wife, Soh Siew Jing.  Speaking to the paper, the elderly coffeeshop assistant remarked that her extreme hoarding behaviour drove them apart a long time ago — they haven't had a proper conversation with each other for the last 20 years. He notes that he is aware of his neighbours' unhappiness over the state of things, but expressed the fact that he can't do anything about the matter. Any attempt to stop her from hoarding will always be met with hostile remarks and even more hoarding.  As a result of her disorder, the flat they live in is infested with cockroaches, flies and other insects that have probably established a whole ecosystem.  The couple have three adult children who live on their own — their daughter has even paid for Soh to get treatment for her psychiatric disorder. It is not know if Soh has followed up with the treatment. Unless she does, it looks like her husband and their neighbours will have to put up with the roaches for quite some time.  Photo: David Chao via Flickr
