With just a few days left before the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight in Las Vegas, it's time you book a spot at your favourite sports bar to watch a live screening in Singapore. Unlike your early morning soccer matches, the airing of the richest boxing match in history starts early — nine in the morning (Singapore time) on May 3, though the actual game is not expected to begin until 11am.
It’s a Sunday, so most sports bar won’t be startimg operations until past lunch, but the ones below have confirmed with Coconuts Singapore that they’ll be open and ready to take your brunch order — do a one-two punch and throw in a bucket of beer, why don't you — whether you’re Team Pacquiao or Team Mayweather.
Boomarang
This Australian restaurant doesn’t need a sports match to fill up its space. The Robertson Quay outlet is massive and a popular Sunday brunch spot, and tables have been booked for May 3. The two-storey Boat Quay branch is considerably smaller, but spots are still up for grabs as of this writing. There’s six TV screens on the ground floor and three more upstairs. 52 Circular Road Boat Quay; +65 6536 4990.
Fern & Kiwi
The bar alone of this Clarke Quay nightspot can accommodate 200 people and the second floor is ready anytime if there’s a big-enough crowd in the house. Downstairs, there are six TV screens on stage. Blk 3C Clarke Quay #01-02/03; +65 6336 2271.
Bungy Bar
There’s nothing like being in the middle of a packed crowd while watching a heated match, and that’s exactly what you’ll be getting at this 12-seater bar overlooking Clarke Quay’s most popular attraction (the reverge bungy ride). We're not sure about the food but it's going to be happy hour from opening till 9pm including beers and cider ($10-$13), wines ($13) and house-pour spirits ($10/shot). Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Blk 3E Clarke Quay #01-07; +65 6338 5707
