Not again: Saladworks at Jem flooded for the second timeCalamity strikes the (cursed?) Jem once again — a salad eatery at the suburban mall in Jurong East was flooded yesterday evening.  Located on the second storey of Jem, a flood hit Saladworks in the evening when water continued to pour out from a pipe. It was believed that units directly below the shop were also affected by the cascade of water.  Employees working in neighbouring stores noted to The Straits Times that it was not the first time Saladworks got flooded — last Christmas, a particularly bad case of pipe malfunction caused a flood which affected nearby units Paris Baguette and PrettyFIT.  When reporters visited the mall yesterday night, workers were mopping up outside the shop, with sandbags set up to prevent the water from flowing into other units.  The Jurong East megamall just can't seem to take a break from bad luck since it opened two years ago. Aside from the couple of flooding cases — due to sprinkler malfunctions and burst water pipes — ceilings have collapsed, a car had burst into flames, staff were  hurt when a deep fryer caught fire and a glass door at the mall shattered unexpectedly. The Old Ones must not be very happy with Jem.  Photo: @greenteacup via Twitter
