Puppy killers have a special rung in hell reserved for them, where they'll have to face giant three-headed dogs gnawing at their privates — but this Malaysian man will be facing jail first for smuggling seven little pups into Singapore, which left one of them dead.
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at Woodlands Checkpoint were conducting routine inspections on an arriving Malaysia-registered car on Mar 30 when they uncovered seven puppies hidden underneath the front passenger seat. One of them was found dead while the other six appeared to be sedated.
Shoved under the front passenger seat, the puppies had their movements restricted, and had no food or water provided to them during the transportations — some of the puppies deteriorated in condition and succumbed to illness. One puppy is currently under quarantine with the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA).
The lone driver — 25-year-old Mohamad Ashwin Nazri — has since been sentenced to five months in jail for importing two Japanese spitz, two golden retrievers and three poodles without a licence, and three months in jail for subjecting the puppies to unnecessary suffering or pain.
