The European Union Film Festival (EUFF) descends upon town once again in another wondrous showcase of choice European films and giving audiences in Singapore a taste of the continent's filmic creativity.
Now in it's 25th edition, Singapore's longest running foreign film festival is set to be the biggest one yet, featuring 29 films from 29 countries representing the best of contemporary European cinema. Celebrated pieces of cinematic work from across Europe such as France's The Connection, Estonia's Tangerines and Poland's Ida will be featured.
Aside from the European productions, a selection of local short films by emerging student filmmakers — through the festival's partnership with LASALLE College of the Arts' Puttnam School of Film — will also see screening at the EUFF. It's a notable highlight to the festival this year with films such as Sharavana Rama's Majulah and Charlene Chung's Cheena Manaivi exploring issues of national, cultural and personal identity — especially since Singapore is celebrating it's 50th birthday this year.
EUFF kicks off on May 13 and will go on till May 24 at Golden Village Suntec City. More details on the films and schedules on their official website.
