![Electronic dance music titan Ultra Music Festival announces expansion in Singapore]()
Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA) got unceremoniously rejected and cancelled earlier this month but it looks like something bigger is ready to take over the realm of dance music festivals here — Ultra Music Festival.
The folks behind one of the biggest EDM festivals in the world recently announced that they'll be expanding to Singapore for their next Asian iteration.
(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));
A big thanks to Cordelia (@c0rde) who sent this raw footage of the special announcement from Miami earlier today! #UltraSingapore

Already, a Facebook page has been set up to commemorate the announcement and to keep fans updated about their upcoming plans. So far, no date, venue and artist lineup has been announced.
Launched in 1999 in Miami, the Ultra Music Festival quickly rose into prominence as they continued to feature the world's biggest names in electronic dance music including Tiesto, David Guetta and Deadmau5, while also expanding to other countries such as Spain, Argentica, Brazi, South Korea and more over the years.
Though they may have announced the expansion to our shores, it is not known if they'll be getting official permits to hold it here. The Ministry of Home Affairs themselves rejected the rights for FMFA to carry on here over fears of drug abuse, despite the festival's confirmed lineup and partners, which lead them to cancel only a couple days before the event.
