Head coach of the Singapore national football team Bernd Stange has enacted a righteous ruling that his team is not allowed to play against top teams until the controversial pitch at the Sports Hub is in pitch perfect condition.
The pitch has repeatedly condemned ever since the opening of the National Stadium due to its subpar condition, which prompted cancellations of several big matches and events.
According to Channel NewsAsia, Stange remarked that a number of top teams have refused to play with Singapore on an artificial pitch — which was initially installed at the stadium but is currently being replaced with a fully natural grass pitch.
On their end, Sports Hub has mentioned that they are engaging with the Football Association of Singapore and are looking forward to bring world-class football teams to the National Stadium.
