All casinos in Singapore — at Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands — will be shut down between 2pm and 6pm today as a mark of respect to the late Lee Kuan Yew on the day of his State Funeral.
Once a staunch proponent against casinos in the country he helped build, he relented to having them built to keep up with the rest of the world.
Singapore Pools have also announced earlier that their retail operations are suspended for the whole day today as a mark of respect.
Attractions at Resorts World Sentosa will still carry on as usual, but there will be a five minute suspension of operations at Universal Studios Singapore, SEA Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark and restaurants from 2pm.
