Well before the commencement of the state funeral for the nation's first Prime Minister, the skies cracked open and unleashed a proper thunderstorm across Singapore — but those waiting by the roads to witness the funeral procession are committed to paying their respects.
Ponchos, umbrellas and Singapore flags have come out in full display as heavy rain hits the people lining up the streets to catch a glimpse of Lee Kuan Yew's casket as it makes its 15.4km journey past landmarks including City Hall, the Padang, Old Parliament House and the residential estates of Tanjong Pagar, Queenstown and Bukit Merah before coming to a stop at the National University of Singapore.

Reportedly, some folks have been waiting along the barricades as early as 6am to chope the best spots along the procession to bid Lee farewell in his final journey to oblivion.
