Queue closes as Lee Kuan Yew's lying in state endsAs the authorities start to prepare for the final day of National Mourning, the queue for the public to pay respects to Lee Kuan Yew at the Parliament house closed at 8pm yesterday evening. According to Channel NewsAsia, many were seen rushing to join the queue at the Padang in the last few minutes before the end of the lying in state. As of 6am today, the tents which were set up by Singapore Armed Forces personnel have been dismantled and returned to the Army Logistics Base. The process involved two infantry battalions, comprising of 1,000 servicemen.  Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean had mentioned to reporters that the closure of the queue whad to be done to give them several hours to clear the crowds and prepare for the proceedings today.
