Stricter rules have been imposed for the priority queue for the lying in state at Parliament House as the special lane for the elderly, disabled, expecting women and families with children below six faced a bottleneck yesterday.
According to The Straits Times, children aged below six can now only be accompanied by their parents while elderly folk can only be accompanied by one other adult.
Last night, the queue for the public to pay their last respects to the late Lee Kuan Yew at the Parliament House grew to enormous proportions once again, with waiting time returning to eight hours.
As the weekend looms however, the current waiting time in the queue as of 10am today is at 10 hours, according to the latest update on the Remembering Lee Kuan Yew website. Members of the public are strongly advised not to join the queue right now.
