Got a tip? Send it to us at singapore@coconuts.co. "Not even my worst enemy has ever accused me of being afraid to speak my mind" is one of the late Lee Kuan Yew's popular quotes.
And there are many of them. Too many.
Thankfully the National Library Board has curated Lee's most relevant quotes in an exhibition that chronicles his life and political career through books, archival photos, newspaper articles, recordings and transcripts of his speeches. To be held at the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library on teh seventh level of the National Library Building, it runs from tomorrow till Apr 22.
Meanwhile at the National Museum of Singapore, expect a display a selection of photographic images and audiovisual recordings, as well as artefacts from the National Collection in an exhibition that's free to the public, from tomorrow till Apr 26.
It begins with Mr Lee’s formative years as a law student at Cambridge and his early involvement in the anti-colonial struggle. It also traces his political career from the formation of the People’s Action Party, through his Prime Ministership, to his final years of service as Senior Minister and Minister Mentor.
