Hobo fined for throwing tantrum and splashing hot milk on doctor who diagnosed him with tantrumsA 63-year-old homeless man was handed out the maximum fine of $1,500 yesterday for sloshing a jug of hot milk at a doctor, ironically after she diagnosed him with a predisposition to tantrums.  Abdul Aziz Selamat demanded 31-year-old Parvathy Babu Surendra Babu to retract her comments at Thye Hwa Kwan Hospital. When the doctor refused, short-tempered Aziz committed a self-fulfilling prophecy by grabbing a jug from a nearby pantry and splashed its contents on her, leaving Dr. Parvathy with redness on her face and chest which subsided the next day.  According to The Straits Times, Aziz had been referred to the hospital for rehabilitation following a surgery. In her summary form, Dr Parvathy wrote that he had been creating trouble for hospital staff and  threw tantrums almost everyday.  He returned to the hospital two days after his discharge to retrieve his mobile phone charger, and also demanded the doctor to delete her negative comments about him. Her refusal sparked his hostility and she was at the receiving end of his lactic assault.  In court, he was charged with using criminal force. His lawyer — employed under the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme Fellowship — urged not to jail Aziz on grounds of his various medical ailments, ill health and financial troubles.  The jobless man had insisted the doctor to remove her comments as he feared that it would affect his applications for a flat and financial assistance.  For his offence, Aziz could have been jailed for up to three months as well as fined.  Photo: M Yashna via Flickr
