Singapore commuters no longer have to worry about the man who's been going around claiming to be an official Uber driver.
The fraudster has been apprehended by the police and his vehicle impounded by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Over the weekend, two people encountered similar cases of a conman who passed himself off as an Uber driver, picking passengers from the street even though their services can only be booked through the mobile app.
The customers were eventually way overcharged and made their experience known on Facebook, while Uber Singapore issued a public alert regarding the imposter, assuring that the car was not registered with them.
The New Paper reports that the car is believed to be involved in a similar scam at Unity Road on Feb 18.
A 29-year-old man is assisting in the investigations.
