Supermarkets taking cautionary measures over mass fish deaths Supermarkets have temporarily stopped selling local-harvest fish as the government investigates the cause of mass fish deaths off the coasts of Pasir Ris and a number of fish farms situated nearby. continue. Channel NewsAsia reports that Sheng Siong and NTUC FairPrice have been closely monitoring the situation and the supply of their fishes.  Sheng Siong mentions that their quality control dictates that all stocks, local produce or not, will be returned to the supplier if any defects are found. FairPrice has requested through the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) that local fish farms ensure that their supplies are safe for consumption.
