Conman preying on foreign workers and students arrested It's hard settling in to a new country, and it's even harder when someone swindles you out of your money.  Between Jan 31 and Feb 10, police received reports from two victims about falling for scam devised by a man they engaged to assist in the application for work and student passes. After they handed over some money — ranging from $2,500 to $6,000 — he became uncontactable.  Through investigations, officers from Jurong Police Division arrested the 47-year-old man last Friday. Two receipt books, a cheque book and two handphones were seized as evidence.  He will be charged in court for the offence of cheating, which carries a punishment of imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine.  Photo: Keith Allison via Flickr  Got a tip?
