Fire broke out at the Jean Yip Loft Building along New Bridge Road yesterday afternoon, leaving a woman in hospital due to smoke inhalation.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the fire around 12.50pm and deployed three fire engines and an ambulance to the scene. Thirty people were safely evacuated from the premises, reports Channel NewsAsia.
The fire was quickly put out with two fire extinguishers. A 40-year-old woman had to be sent to Singapore General Hospital as she was experiencing breathing difficulties, believed to have been caused by smoke inhalation.
