![Dry weather here to stay till March: NEA]()
Who could forget that very long period of drought here last year? It was Singapore's longest ever dry spell, drying up everything from water bodies to grasslands, turning everything green into a sordid hue of brown and yellow.
Though current conditions have not been as bad as last year's NEA however expects dry and occasionally windy condition conditions to extend into early March as the region faces the dry phase of the North-east Monsoon season, TODAY reports.
As of two days ago, monthly total rainfall remains at 19.0mm, higher that the 0.2mm of rainfall recorded in the same period last year. Across the island, rainfall has also been recorded as below average in the first half of February, and is expected to remain so until the end of the month.
The Public Utilities Board have managed to maintain healthy water levels in reservoirs despite the dry weather, and have also attuned the production of NEWater and desalinated water according to the level of demand. The members of the public however have been urged to do their part to save water during this volatile period of weather.
