TODAY journalists banned from government events due to repeatedly breaking news embargoes In what must be a rattling announcement for MediaCorp owned newspaper TODAY, their reporters have been banned from attending government press briefings due to persistent cases of broken embargoes.  Mumbrella reports that the ban will be in place for a month, directly affecting the content output for the nation's second-largest newspaper as government announcement at events count a major part of the local news they run.  The Ministry of Communications and Information confirmed the enactment of the ban with Mumbrella, while journalists from TODAY have also been informed that they will not be permitted to attend government events.  Reportedly, a total of four TODAY stories broke embargoes, including pieces on rising public transport fares and a cabinet reshuffle.  The enactment of the ban will also mean that the newspaper could miss out on briefings regarding Singapore Budget 2015, which will be delivered live in Parliament on Feb 23.  Photo: TODAY Facebook page
