Residents worried by the colony of rats living on a hill near Bukit Batok MRT station will soon be able to breathe a sigh of relief.
Two days after a video of the skin-tingling scene went viral on Facebook, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) sent pest control officers to study and fix the problem.
According to Channel NewsAsia, more than 10 workers from Star Pest Control visited the hill at about 8am this morning and began treating the burrows. Rats that ran out were trapped in cages.
Star Pest Control manager Bernard Chan says when the operation ends later today, the rats will be eliminated. "We will just kill them," he told CNA.
