A new F&B destination has taken over the space at #01-01 Pacific Plaza, where That CD Shop, High Society and The Mansion used to be.
The 5,000 sq. ft. area spanning two storeys of the Orchard Road mall is now home to Cloud, the first venture by Eurasia Prod Pte. Ltd.
Their 40-seater Bistro-Bar on the ground floor is already open for lunch, tea and dinner (10am — 10:30pm), offering casual yet hearty fare like beef cheek in red wine jus and poulet rôti. The menu's expected to be expanded early next year.
Launching Dec. 5 is the second-storey Ultra Lounge (10pm — 4am), which at first glance really hits us with its decor. With the basic retro furnishings (of course black and white diamond tiling), a dash of high gloss (marble tops, black satin...) and visual tributes to Lego, this new Orchard Road club feels a lot like The Butter Factory's more sensible older sibling.
Cloud is helmed by resident mixologist Sham Hussain, who's worked with Supperclub and Zafferano, and lends his creativity to classics such as the Sidecar and the Tom Collins. Feeling adventurous? Sham's specialty seems to be mood-matching mixes — make sure to try Storm in a Glass ($18), a whiskey-based cocktail that tastes just like it sounds, and Stratus ($18), a photogenic G&T elevated with elderflower foam.
