Tributes pour in for Singapore radio sweetheart Kate ReyesKate Reyes died last weekend after battling breast cancer, leaving behind a husband and two children.  Reyes worked 14 years in Singapore radio, starting her career in the peak '90s with 98.7FM's Perfect 10 and Gold 90.5FM, before joining the Singapore Press Holdings' Heart 91.3FM and more recently in 2010, Lush 99.5FM. Old colleagues have not only been expressing their sorrow online, but also showering compliments in tribute to their beloved friend. Possibly the first celebrity to break the silence was her former Gold 90.5FM colleague Claressa Monteiro, who wrote (top photo) how Reyes was "many things to many people": "funny, irreverent, extremely clever, and completely devoted to her family".  Vernetta Lopez, a former Mediacorp DJ and friends with Reyes since the early age of 17, also took to Facebook to express her grief, saying she was "heartbroken for (Reyes') family and children" and that she couldn't believe she was gone. "When she cared and loved, she went all out. My last conversation with her was about how happy she was to be a mother." Kiss 92FM's John Klass told The Straits Times, "Kate was a highly ambitious talent. She had a one-of-a-kind radio voice which exuded a sultry and easy style. I always expected to hear her on the airwaves again someday, where she belonged." Kate Reyes' ex-husband Glenn Ong, who began his radio career at about the same time she did and is now with Class 95FM, dedicated a poem to her family:   Kate Reyes' illustrious career means she's well-loved not just by the people who know her, but also from members of the public — people who grew up listening to her soothing voice and whose dedications she read on air. The Sam Willows' Benjamin Kheng, says he even picked up radio knowledge from the star:  According to Channel NewsAsia, a funeral will be held tomorrow.  Loved her voice? You can still hear it on this 2012 The Art of Lush interview.
