Property agent fined $27k for violating DNC Registry rulesA Huttons Asia real estate agent was dealed a whopping fine of $27,000 for breaching the Do Not Call (DNC) Registry under the recently enacted Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), becoming the second individual to be charged for the offence in Singapore.  32-year-old Kuan Chow Sheng had sent unsolicited text messages to advertise property developments through through a bulk SMS-broadcasting software, Channel NewsAsia reports. A total of 235 complaints of Kuan’s unsolicited telemarketing messages were filed.  According to court documents, Juan had continued to send telemarketing messages even after the enactment of the PDPA, as he had not attended a compliance course on the Act.
