International electronic dance music conference to debut in Singapore in DecemberSingapore’s nightlife scene has consistently proven itself as one of the most vibrant ones in the world, and the foremost leaders and thinkers in electronic dance music culture are taking notice — the International Music Summit (IMS) is making its Asia-Pacific debut right here on Dec. 11 at Sentosa Cove.  The conference gathers prominent figures in today’s EDM scene, founded by iconic UK DJ Pete Tong, the “global ambassador for electronic music”. Now a behemoth industry in itself worth $7.9 billion annually, IMS is regarded to be the premier platform for thought leaders in electronic music, featuring speaking sessions with the world’s foremost DJs, managers, record label owners and brand managers in a glitzy appreciation for the business and the craft of electronic music.  IMS was launched in 2007 in the epicentre of dance music Ibiza, and this year marks the debut of IMS Asia-Pacific, coinciding with ZoukOut. Featuring a series of panels, keynote interviews, speeches, workshops and tutorials, the Asia-Pacific edition of IMS will focus on the opportunities and challenges of the EDM industry in the region as well as connecting Asian leaders from the worlds of finance, technology, music and media with their counterparts from the rest of the world.  Previous attendees include international names in EDM culture including Seth Troxler, Basement Jaxx, Giorgio Moroder, along with executives from Soundcloud, KCRW, Mixmag and Native Instruments — and it’ll be more than likely to see the likes of them and many more in the upcoming extravaganza. The nine-hour event will be hosted by founder Pete Tong himself at the W Singapore — Sentosa Cove. Tickets are available on the official IMS website from $125 onwards.  Photo: IMS Facebook page; Typewriter Media   Read Also:  The Butter Factory NOT moving to another venue Full lineup revealed for ZoukOut 2014; includes Skrillex, Martin Garrix and more
