An international award has been conferred to the Housing & Development Board (HDB) for their service innovation, coming out tops against eight other countries.
According to a press release by HDB, they won the FutureGov Awards 2014 for the creation of new and improved customer experiences through service personalisation at its Punggol Branch.
Set up in 2012, HDB took the opportunity to utilise innovative IT systems at their Punggol Branch to serve the growing number of residents living at the new estate. Features include the “warm and conducive environment” that greeted residents at the branch with plush, spacious sofas in the waiting area and personalised services by Service Ambassadors. Queues and waiting times were reduced by way of an online appointment system, and user-friendly self-help electronic kiosks that enabled customers to perform transactions beyond Branch operating hours.
“HDB is honoured to be recognized for innovation in delivering quality service to our residents,” HDB CEO Cheong Koon Hean says. “This is affirmation of HDB’s commitment to put our residents at the heart of what we do.”
