Netizens have been having a field day criticising and making improvements to the images purportedly produced by the Ministry of National Development (MND), to accompany their announcement of the Housing and Development Board's (HDB) new lift project.
The pilot project aims to give direct lift access to households not eligible for the Lift Upgrading Programming, and involves installing two systems — the Vertical Platform Lift (VPL, unfortunately) and the Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator (PVE) — in various sites by the end of the year. The systems are said to be slower than the technology used in the LUP, but are less costly to install.
Great move, poor visualisation. Here are the two photos published by Channel NewsAsia along with their report of the programme:
Both are slipshod pieces of Photoshop work, but the one featuring the couple was unfortunately used on CNA's Facebook page, drawing the most flak:
Some folks have even gone so far as to 'improve' the photos.
