Netizens have been having a field day criticising and making improvements to the images purportedly produced by the Ministry of National Development (MND), to accompany their announcement of the Housing and Development Board's (HDB) new lift project.
The pilot project aims to give direct lift access to households not eligible for the Lift Upgrading Programming, and involves installing two systems — the Vertical Platform Lift (VPL, unfortunately) and the Pneumatic Vacuum Elevator (PVE) — in various sites by the end of the year. The systems are said to be slower than the technology used in the LUP, but are less costly to install.
