![Four suspects arrested in four-hour drug bust showdown at Woodlands]()
A dramatic four-hour stand-off took place at Woodlands last night when officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) raided a house for suspected drug activities.
The New Paper reports that at least four suspects have been arrested at the end of the ordeal. CNB officers had made an attempt to raid the house earlier on in the evening but the occupants refused entry to the personnel and barricaded themselves in the house.
Looking like long night ahead for the officers, they called upon the assistance of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and the police for operational support. The police set up a cordon around the block while the SCDF’s Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team set up safety nets and inflatable rescue air cushions on the ground floor in case the suspects attempted to jump down from the flat.
The stand-off between the suspects and the authorities lasted for more than four hours, The New Paper says, and four men were taken away by the CNB at the end of the incident.
