Since its launch earlier in August, Wireless@SG services at selected MRT platforms have been warmly received by commuters, says Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Transport Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim.
Channel NewsAsia reports that more than 145,000 commuters have enjoyed the free WiFi service available at City Hall, Orchard and Raffles Place MRT stations, a massive increase from the 100,000 users on service launch day.
Dr Faishal also stated in Parliament today that the Wireless@SG service will be progressively put in place at train stations along the North-East Line as well as 12 other MRT stations with high passenger volume, including Jurong East, Buona Vista and Paya Lebar.
Singapore commuters should be happy that they can even get mobile connection in trains — other commuters in cities such as London and New York can’t even get a decent signal down in the underground.
