Even more taxis will be deployed within the next year, in a partnership between Hyundai Motor and local transportation company ComfortDelGro Group, which will see the supply of 3,000 i40 diesel taxies, according to BusinessKorea.
Hyundai Motor first signed a contract to supply taxies with the operator in 2006 and has since supplied an average of 2,000 Sonata taxies every year up till last year. ComfortDelGro Group currently occupies 60 percent of the market share in Singapore with a total of 16,000 vehicles in operation.
Hyundai Motor is now expected to completely occupy all ComfortDelGro taxies and successfully become the largest motor company in the the cabbing market.
