Infinium Robotics, a homegrown technology firm, is looking into introducing drones to restaurants, where these machines will function as waiters.
CEO of Infinium Robotics, Mr. Woon Junyang explained, “You can use drones for surveying and mapping as well as for aerial photography, area surveillance and remote monitoring of civilian sites.”
Drones have been applied in several outdoor settings – such as activating a Coca-Cola delivery or taking selfies from up top. However, it’s believed that Infinium Robotics might be the first to bring these ufo-like robots indoors.
The company obtained a $250,000 grant from SPRING Singapore this year to research about indoor drone systems and the food and beverage sector. A drone and its supporting system are priced at $20,000.
Infinium Robotics has applied for copyrights regarding this technology. Should it be approved, robot waiters working in indoor restaurants may not be a rare sight anymore.
