Woman on trial for attempting to murder girlfriend25-year-old Giselle Shi Jia Wei is on trial for attempting to murder her girlfriend Ummul Qurratu Ain Abdul, Channel NewsAsia (CNA) reports.  The pair had had a tumultuous relationship it seems, and had gone to a Geylang hotel on Jul. 21, 2012 for some 'breakup closure'. The next day, Shi pleaded with 22-year-old Ummul to rekindle their relationship, but Ummul refused. Reportedly, that was when Shi stabbed her lover twice in the chest.  Despite her injury, Ummul was able to escape and seek help from a couple. She was later sent to the Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Apparently Shi also stabbed herself in the chest, but the charge of attempted suicide was dismissed yesterday in court.  During her testimony, Ummul explained how she'd met Shi in 2010. According to same CNA report, she also described her ex as possessive, calculative and insecure, and revealed how they'd quarrel over the smallest of things, such as the use of toiletries.  She said before the stabbing, Shi had said that they would be together, whether in life or death.
