National Technological University (NTU) has surfaced at the top of QS World University Ranking 2014/15’s best 50 universities founded in the last 50 years.
The local university overtook 2013’s top lister The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), which dropped to second place this year. Both schools were established in 1991. The Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) followed closely behind at third place.
NTU and HKUST are the only two universities under 50 years old to qualify for this recent overall QS World University Ranking.
According to Channel NewsAsia, QS Head of Research Ben Sowter highly praised NTU of its achievements. Considering that our elite institution has been around for less than 25 years, its performance is “nothing short of impressive”.
