Slight haze conditions over Singapore till end SeptemberPollutant Standards Index (PSI) levels today have significantly lowered from the past two days, but Singapore should expect slightly hazy conditions to continue over the next two weeks. According to the latest fortnightly weather outlook released by the National Environmental Agency (NEA), low level winds are forecast to blow from the south-southeast or southwest during the Southwest Monsoon period.  “As periods of consecutive dry days are common over the region during the Southwest Monsoon season, Singapore could experience occasional slightly hazy conditions on a few days,” NEA reports. A total of seven hotspots were detected in Sumatra as of yesterday’s satellite update.   For now, PSI values remain in the moderate range and NEA has advised that normal activities may continue given the relatively decent air quality in Singapore.   The possibility of heavy haze hangs over the upcoming F1 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix, which is due to take place this weekend.  Photo: Wikipedia Commons Read Also: Indonesia fires spark Singapore, Malaysia haze warning
