A Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) video aided the Singapore Police Force in the capture of a 26-year-old man suspected of breaking into a restaurant located in a shopping centre in the Orchard Road area.
The suspect was reported to have broken into a safe at said establishment on June 1 at 9:02pm, and got away with close to $8,000 in cash. After establishing the identity of the perp from video footage, the police proceeded to arrest the suspect in Choa Chu Kang — a sum of close to $2,000 in cash was among his possessions — on June 2 at 2:30pm.
The man will be charged in court on June 3 for housebreaking and theft. If found guilty, he will face a maximum sentence of 14 years in jail.
