![LTA awards $1.15b contracts for Thomson and Eastern Region MRT lines]()

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore has awarded about $1.15 billion worth of civil, as well as electrical and mechanical contracts, for work on the Thomson and Eastern Region MRT lines.
The construction of Mt Pleasant Station and its associated tunnels has been awarded to the RSEA Engineering Corporation - Eng Lee Engineering - Wai Fong Construction joint venture at approximately $207 million. Mt Pleasant will be the fifth Civil Defence shelter along the Thomson Line, joining Lentor, Mayflower, Sin Ming and Woodlands.
Construction of Stevens station and its associated tunnels has been awarded to Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. for about $441 million. Daewoo is a construction company responsible for numerous subways and high speed railway projects in South Korea. Stevens will be an interchange station connecting the Thomson Line with the Downtown Line.
The construction of Maxwell station will be the responsibility of Hock Lian Seng Infrastructure; the contract was awarded at a sum of approximately $222 million. Hock Lian Seng is currently working on the construction of Downtown Line's Gali Batu Depot.
Construction for all three stations will commence in the second quarter of this year, and will complete by 2021.
